I pray that I would look to Jesus with the same trust that she has when she looks at me, depending on me for absolutely everything that she needs. How deeply do I, an imperfect, sinful, selfish person, want to love her and meet each of her needs...and He is far more worthy of my trust and capable of meeting my needs than I am of Grace's.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him. ~Matthew 7.11
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4.19
'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus
by Louisa M. R. Stead
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know "Thus saith the Lord"
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Himo'er and o'er!
jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
"Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
I'm so glad I learned to trust Him,
Precious Jesus, saviour, friend;
And I know that He is with me,
Will be with me to the end.
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know "Thus saith the Lord"
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Himo'er and o'er!
jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
"Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
I'm so glad I learned to trust Him,
Precious Jesus, saviour, friend;
And I know that He is with me,
Will be with me to the end.
